The Joyce Trisler Danscompany is a timeless, classical company dedicated to the continuance of pioneer Lester Horton's style of dance. Sleek and skillful, the dancers emulate the beauty of all out dancing while embracing the human spirit with purity of motion.
The Joyce Trisler DANSCOMPANY with Regina Larkin and Carmen de Lavallade at the helm, supported by the Board of Directors, Advisors, Administrators and Artists, together we PRESERVE the dances of Joyce Trisler and EVOLVE the legacy of American (of Irish and German descent) Dance Pioneer Lester Horton, described as a Master of the West Coast.
The Danscompany nurtures emerging artists and audiences alike both in Performing and Fine Arts. Playing a role in the individual life, we are open to creative thinking and expression to enhance HARMONY in HUMANITY with GLOBAL AWARENESS.
The DANSCOMPANY has been in existence since 1975, founded by partners Joyce Trisler and Harry Rubenstein in conjunction with New Dance Group of New York City. Throughout the years artistic direction has passed through Miguel Lopez, Milton Meyers, Co- Directors Harry Rubenstein and Regina Larkin and presently with Directors Regina Larkin and Carmen de Lavallade. Artistic Advisors have been Alvin Ailey, Bella Lewitsky and presently Dance Historian, Larry Warren and New York Public Library at Lincoln Center Library of Performing Arts Dance Curator, Madeleine Nichols.
Through time the Danscompany and its members are sharing their life experiences with others.
The SOUL of our GOAL is "PURITY and TRUTH in ARTS ACTION."
